"Here we come to save the day!!"

So we had a great Halloween. The kids looked too cute and had fun getting way too much candy. Kade REALLY got it this year. He was so precious walking up to the houses and saying "tick or teat, thank you!" He had no fear and was on a mission walking quickly from house to house. He lasted longer than I thought he would. He did ask me to hold his bag because it was "heaby" (heavy). Then he threw his hands up in the air and said, "I DONE!" and that was that. Averi had so much fun going with some of her friends and is quite the candy sneaker. I don't even notice she has candy in her mouth. Her only problem is, I found her trash stash. I guess that is one good thing about kids not knowing how to clean up after themselves, we can catch them stealing candy! HA HA HA!!

Well we have a slow week ahead. Soccer is over so that clears up Sat. morning for us as well as Thur. night. We are heading to Houston this weekend for a wedding, whew it never ends!

Have a great week, talk soon.

xoxoxo, Mandi

PS- Averi had to dress up for church as something from the Bible, so this is her as a rainbow.

FALL IS HERE!!

I am so excited that the cold weather is FINALLY here. I love the cold crisp air in the morning. The kids are also excited...mostly because they (AVERI) knows that means Santa is coming soon. Kade was so funny a few mornings ago. We were up to take Averi to school bright and early and as the garage opened he felt the cold air and just laughed and said; "ohhh, it's cold Mommy it's cold". Giggling all the while!! Watching him learn new things is so much fun.

So I am a week behind or so, so...let's catch up.

Kort and I went to San Antonio with some friends for a 30th Birthday. It was a lot of fun. We went to the River Walk, t the Alamo, and to the Brad Paisley concert. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying friends. The kids went to my sister Heidi's house and had a blast playing with their cousins. We also got to meet our new nephew Lucas! What a happy little doll!
Then we ALL got sick! Yes is comes by 4 in our house. We are all better now!

Just a quick prayer request... Baby Hazel has pneumonia and has been in NC seeing Ashlei. After a long horrible night in the ER she is doing better. Pray she heals quickly and that baby Dawson does not get it. THANKS!!

Well the kids are so excited for Halloween Friday. I will post pictures after all the sugar highs wear off. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Fun, Silly, and Sweet

So I hope all of you had a good weekend. I sure did!!! I went to Canton with a group of friends on Friday and came home Sunday. The break was really needed and lots of fun. We laughed and relaxed and just enjoyed each other's company. SO FUN!!!

While I was away Kort and his Step Dad Gene stayed here with the kids. They had a good time as well. It is always fun for the kids to stay up late have friends over and get doughnuts for breakfast Sat. and Sun. morning!! Talk about sugar rush!!

I guess the kids missed me though because they were so happy to see me. Kade was SO cute he ran to the door saying, " I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU MOMMY!!!" so darn sweet!! Then the rest of the day they both were hanging on one of my legs and the signs of lack of sleep were showing in their whining voices, so WELCOME HOME!! It is always good to get away but good to come home to kids who miss you.

I also am EXCITED to tell you that my sister Ashlei and brother-n-law Brian had a precious baby boy Dawson on Thursday Oct. 2. He is just perfect and healthy. I am so sad I can't be there to kiss his baby toes but I hope to see him soon.
I also wanted to pass on my conversation I had with Kade last night. I am going to do better about keeping up with those silly and sweet things these crazy kids say.
So I was sitting in the rocking chair with Kade getting him ready for sleepy sleep, and just talking and rocking....

Me- "Where's my baby boy?"
Kade- "RIGHT HERE" (while pointing to his chest)
Me-"Right there?....What's your name?"
Kade- "K-K (what I call him)....I 2,....um 11, 13"
Me-"OHH, your 2, 11, 13?"
Kade- "Yep!"
Me-"Where's your Mommy"
Kade-"She's lost"
Then he pulled my shirt over my face and said "See, she's lost!"
WE both just laughed and laughed, then he said "I SO SILLY"!
He is so funny and makes me just crack up all the time.

Here are some pictures of Kade on his new "bike" that he will not let anyone even touch one working on his bike and one of a sad boy when sister bothers him. This hiding his face is his new thing when he is crying! OHH BOY!

Have a great week! XOXOXO

What a Week!

So we had a crazy week! Averi had 2 more soccer games and did much better. She actually kicked the ball and I only had to tell her to stop talking 3 or 4 times...so a great day. Maybe we will get our money's worth after all. Kort told me she looked silly with her matching soccer ball bows, but I say if you can't be the best you should at least look the best...RIGHT!!! Ya know I can't give her any sport advice but I can make her the cutest darn girl out there! HA HA!!

This week we are busy too. We have dance and Awana and soccer again. I am also Averi's Room Mom at school so I have a meeting for that. Then this weekend I am off to Canton with a bunch of girls to shop and relax...I can't wait!

I thought I would put some pictures of Kade to show you the kind of stuff I deal with when it is just the two of us. He is always into something and he makes me laugh all the time. The one of his hair is just to give you an idea of what I take on every morning. It takes about 10 min. and a bunch of product to get through that rat's nest. All the while he is yelling, "STOP MOMMY THAT HURTS ME!!" Then the next picture is what he does while I try to clean up the mess he just made. Ohh yes he was covered in green marker and I had to leave to get Averi in 5 min. So nice huhh! What a stinker....speakin of stinker I have to go I just checked on him and he is devouring a bag of chocolate chips...who needs the cookie part anyway! WHEEEEW!!! Off to put out another fire! HA HA HA!! What an exciting life!

Refugees Welcome!

So we have had a crazy week. My sister Dori, her husband Jesse, and their 3 and a half mon. old baby Hazel came to stay with us. They had one night of no A/C due to Hurricane Ike and said "see ya" to The Woodlands. So we were the host family of some refugees! I just wanted to do my part to help! HA HA!! We had lot's of fun just hanging out. Kort and Jesse took full advantage of the break and played golf 3 times, went to the gun range and then to the Aggie game ( we wont talk about that!) They just had a grand old time!! Dori and I went to lunch and went shopping ya know girl stuff. Averi had her very first soccer game. Her team name is The Cheetahs and they are orange, go figure! The games was exciting but let's just say Averi is going to need some extra lessons from Daddy. She was more interested in talking and cheering on her team to get the ball that she forgot to do it herself. Maybe next game will be better! Then Sat. night we took the kids to the Plano Balloon Festival on Sat. The kids LOVED it they got so excited to see all the cool balloons. Kade's favorite was a huge panda and Averi's was a giant daisy.

It was so much fun getting to spend time with The Hills! I am sure gonna miss that sweet baby girl! Averi thought she was her own personal baby doll! Kade is missing them so much, every time he hears a car he gets an excited look on his face and says "Aunt Jesse" ( He is a bit confused on the whole aunt uncle thing!) He also does not want me to take down Hazel's bed.

So now it is back to normal...or is it??? Averi is home sick today with fever and a hurt tummy. Kort starts his new job today also. So maybe tomorrow will be back to normal.

I hope all of you in Houston and around there are getting back to normal. I am glad that you are all ok, maybe just sick of eating anything left in the pantry!

XOXOXOXO! Enjoy your week!

I'm Back!!

Ok, so I have been away from the blog for too long. This summer was just crazy and really I was just LAZY! Now that school has started I can get back to normal....well my normal!

Kade is growing like a weed and so darn sweet. He loves any kind of ball and has a new love for Spider man! He "throws" his web everywhere and jumps off everything! I have really entered into the world of BOYS! I love it and a learning a lot.
Kort is starting a new job in 2 weeks! He is really excited and looking forward to what it will bring to our life and his career. He is also helping coach Averi's soccer team!
As for me....well just same old thing! Taking care of kids, house, husband ya know the usual!

We had a lot of fun this summer at the lake house. I think we were there every other weekend. The kids had a ball and so did we. I am ready for a fun fall and looking forward to the cool weather!! I am going to be better about the blog I promise!! So keep checking back I plan on updating it about once a week!

Fun Weekend!!

So we had a fun filled weekend! One of our highschool friends Ryan who now lives in Alabama with his sweet wife Brandie and darling little girl Cecilia were in town. So we went to Ryan's sister Courtney house to visit with her cute family as well. The kids had a BLAST! And the big boys did too. Not much has changed from highschool...now the boys have to stop being silly long enough to change a diaper but they pick right back up and act like fools! We all laughed and laughed! Here are some pictures from our great visit!
